Essano Rosehip Pure Defence SPF15 Moisturiser Review

The band Essano is a New Zealand based brand that has a mixture of New Zealand made products and non-kiwi made products. The brand is also known for being cruelty free and promises to be free from parabens, sulphates, silicones, phthalates, PEGs and PPGs, mineral oils, GMOs, and animal testing. You can buy Essano products in Australia from Woolworths, Big W, and Priceline and I’m sure you could find their products in other pharmacies in Australia. In New Zealand I have seen Essano in Pack n Save but I am no sure about other supermarkets.

The moisturiser is for all skin types and comes in a little brown 75ml/2.53 fl oz bottle with a pink label and a pump. The pump has a small nozzle that only squirts out a little product at a time, this is good if you only want a small amount to put say on your face but not so good if you want to moisturise your legs.
The moisturiser contains; water, aloe vera leaf juice, ethylhexy methoxycinnamate (SPF), zinc oxide (good for acne and SPF), C12-15 alkyl benzoate (skin conditioner), cetyal alcohol (plant-deprived thickener), beeswax (cera alba), sunflower oil, rosehip oil, xanthan gum (thickener), fragrance, vitamin E (tocopheryl acetate), tetrasodium glutamate diacetate (bonding agent), bisabolol (synthetic calendula oil), lactic acid (acid found in milk), Ci77491 (iron based colourant), Ci77492 (iron based colourant), Ci77499 (iron oxide).

The moisturiser is very creamy which I personally like and it has a light fragrance. The formula is slightly oily when you initially apply it but after 2 minutes the product has sunken in and leaves your skin feeling plump, smooth, and moisturised. A little goes a long way with this moisturiser because of its thick, creamy formula. It does take a little while to work in the tougher skin of your legs but on your face it just glides on and absorbs quickly.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed and hopefully I shall see you in the next post.
